nyc fashion week

I've been checking every fashion site and style blog (specifically style.comreligiously for the last few days to check out what the designers are bringing to the table, and I'm seeing a lot that I LOVE so far.  The colors are amazing and all of the garments are so fun and fresh.

Alice + Olivia always impresses me with their funky pieces, but these two really stood out to me.

Bagdley Mischka is ultra-feminine and I looove the ruffles and hot pink sash on the dress on the left!

Oscar de la Renta really surprised me this season, but in a good way.  BTW how much does the look on the right scream Carrie Bradshaw?!

Marchesa is my favorite design house...Every season I fall head over heels for their beautiful dresses and this season is no different.  So elegant and so much drama!

more fashion blogs from the web

A lot of fashion blogs that I follow are on tumblr.com because I'd rather just look at picture after picture than read, and sometimes a picture can explain a lot more about trends and inspirations than words can.  These are some of my favorite tumblr blogs that I've been addicted to over the past few years:

1: fashion blogs from the web

New York City has always been the center of the fashion universe...at least it is to a New Yorker.  Blogs like streetpeeper.com and altamira.blogspot.com follow in the footsteps of the ultimate New York City street fashion blog - thesartorialist.blogspot.com.  Reading magazines and looking at popular celebrities are great ways to get fashion inspiration, but sometimes just looking around at people on the street is inspiration enough.  Scrolling through page after page, you can discover what the next big trend might be or what direction designers are going to take their upcoming collection for the new season.

These New Yorkers are not professional models, celebrities, or fashion icons, but they are all innovaters in their own ways and they are what make New York City so fashionable.  This blog is going to highlight these fashionistas and show how they can be an inspiration to anyone in everyday life.

streetpeeper.com found Sarah Howard on the streets of NYC (right) wearing a Rachel Roy top and a black studded mini with Miu Miu sandals.  altamira.blogspot.com found Madelene, a runway model, walking the streets of New York showing a different way to wear a mini by pairing it with a button-down top and oxfords - mirroring the menswear-inspired looks seen in so many collections this season.  Fashion is obviously in the blood of every New Yorker.
